A young Frumf named Fern meets a Thnoo named Thea and, even though their hats are different colours, they become friends. However, Fern's parents are not pleased about her new pal. Fern sets out to understand why Frumfs don't seem to like Thnoos. In doing so she uncovers a secret that Frumf mayors have been keeping for generations!

The Hue Of Her Hat is a silly caper in which the friendship of two young girls triumphs over the mean grown-ups. Or, if you prefer, it is an exploration of the greed, prejudice and inequality that follows from traditional power structures. Take your pick!
